What should I do if I am injured but can’t afford a lawyer?

07.18.09

Many people who have been injured can’t afford the costs to sue for their losses in court.

Going to court is very expensive. There is lawyer’s fees, the costs of medical and expert opinions and the actual court costs. This is money you may not have and certainly won’t have if you have been out of work as the result of an accident or illness. In many situations, just treating your injuries can be enough to break the bank.

Because of this, in personal injury and disability cases, I will generally take cases on a contingency fee basis. This means you will only pay if we win or settle the lawsuit in your favour. The contingency fee breaks down to a percentage of the judgement or settlement plus the expenses.

There is absolutely no charge for the first visit, so If you think you have a personal injury case, and you need a lawyer, don’t hesitate to give me a call. We can discuss your situation, your legal rights and whether you have a solid enough case for me to take it on a contingency fee basis.
