After a car accident, should I meet with the adjuster from the other driver’s insurance company?

07.18.08 | Comment?

This one is easy.  Don’t do it!

Never meet with anyone from the other driver’s insurance company after an accident.  The meeting will not benefit you in any way and can only hurt you.

Despite anything the adjuster may tell you, they will not offer you a settlement.  The adjuster wants to meet with you to convince you not to sue and to get information and admissions that can be used against you, should you later decide to sue.
